PILLER Monitoring and Diagnostics - COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES:

APONET
- combination of the UPS and powerful APONET software for networks and for individual PC workstations gives the user maximum data security and optimum protection through automatic, ordered shutdown of an entire network in the event of a power failure. The Power shutdown feature can save all unstored data on the screens of the workstations and disconnect these in ordered manner whereas conventional software only shuts down the server.

In addition, precise information about the current operating parameters of the UPS is transmitted via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). Integration into an NMS (Network Management System) is possible with 'SNAP-IN'.
APONET
for networks and individual PC work stations provides controlled shutdown of important
network units in the event of prolonged power failures.

Central operating data acquisition and monitoring:

APOMON - centralised remote control system for the UPS, running under MS Windows on a PC.

APOMON is complete information software for monitoring and controlling virtually any power supply system in your company via serial interfaces, networks or modem. Connection to a buildings management system can be made via a standard interface. Real-time operating information and historic events are displayed, for example. Display is also possible in the form of individual building plans, electrical mimic diagrams and system operating elements.

On request APOMON provides reports with current or historic data and allows future operation to be forecast by trend analyses. The DDE interface allows all data to be incorporated into standard applications, such as databa-ses or spread sheets, for further processing.

Simple and easy to handle, the software is an efficient tool even for the non-expert. You are given a central overview of all data concerning the power supply in your company.

Economical expert system for remote diagnostics and tele-maintenance:

APOCONNECT switches the UPS to the telephone network via a modem so that service departments and UPS users can communicate with the UPS. All UPS data can be displayed on a PC via the modem and recorded by means of a digital storage scope. APOCONNECT permits complete remote access to the internal system control for troubleshooting and debugging, for example:

- Calling up system reports from the event recorder. All operating and error messages, such as switching processes and mains failures, are recorded with date and time.

- Interrogation of real time data, such as voltages, currents, outputs and frequencies.

- Appropriate adjustment of system parameters, e.g. improving operational behaviour on diesel operation.

- Software updates.

The system can automatically page the expert when certain events occur. The experts can be the operator's specialists as well as Piller's own service personnel.

Remote access for complete monitoring and rapid diagnostic facilities is thus possible - from anywhere in the world!
